Vehicle Listings Privacy Notice

My Jaecoo Ltd, trading as MyJaecoo, is responsible for the personal information we use to run the vehicle listings service. This notice covers listing a vehicle, viewing an advert and reporting a concern. Read it alongside our main Privacy Policy.

When you submit an advert

We use your Shopify customer account ID and email, seller type, vehicle details, description, photos, town or county, chosen public phone number and seller declarations to review and manage your advert. We record the advert reference, your submission and renewal dates, the terms you accepted and any decisions or changes requested by our team. You need to sign in and provide the required details to submit an advert.

What buyers can see

Once approved, the advert can display your seller type, vehicle details, description, town or county, approved photos and public phone number. Dealer or business adverts also display the business name, address, phone number, email and company number if provided. Your account ID, account email and review records are kept separately from the public advert. People and search engines can copy information from a published advert.

We upload photos to Shopify Files for review. Anyone who gets the direct image link can open it, even while the advert is waiting for approval. Before you upload, crop or blur faces, number plates and identifying details you want to keep private. Keep identity documents, V5C references, bank details, home addresses and other private information out of photos and descriptions.

When you report an advert

We use the advert reference, the reason you give, your message and your contact email to investigate the concern and follow up if needed. Shopify delivers the report to the MyJaecoo inbox. We handle reports privately. Include only information needed to explain your concern.

Who helps us run the service

We use Shopify for sign-in, advert records, photos and report delivery. We use Cloudflare to process listing requests, keep track of which account owns an advert and protect the service against abuse. Our providers process connection information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the service. For details about international processing and safeguards, see our main Privacy Policy.

If optional listing analytics are enabled and you allow analytics, we count advert views and clicks on the seller's phone link. We record the public advert reference, event type and a random event ID to count activity and avoid duplicate counts. You can change your analytics choice through the store's cookie settings. Calls take place directly between buyer and seller.

Withdrawal, photos and retention

You can use My adverts to withdraw a listing or mark it sold. Withdrawing it takes the advert off MyJaecoo. Review records and Shopify photo files are handled separately, and copies already saved by others or held in caches may remain available.

We decide how long to keep information based on whether the advert or report is still active, what we need to deal with complaints, fraud or other security concerns, and whether a legal obligation or dispute requires us to keep a record. We review photos separately to check whether they are still needed or used elsewhere before deleting them.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict its use, or ask for a portable copy. Contact us to exercise a right, withdraw permission to publish your advert or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity. Email hello@myjaecoo.co.uk.
